Leaves of Hope Event Celebrates Cancer Survivors
Personal bests take on new meaning for many Leaves of Hope participants.
Join 1,000 of Lutheran Medical Center's Patients, Physicians, Staff and Neighbors for the 2015 Leaves of Hope Run/Walk and Cancer Survivors Celebration on Sunday, June 7.
Leaves of Hope, a fun and inspiring family event that celebrates the lives of the more than 14 million cancer survivors in the U.S., is the largest National Cancer Survivors Day celebration in Jefferson County.
This annual event, hosted by the Cancer Centers of Colorado at Lutheran and the Lutheran Medical Center Foundation, features 5K, 10K and 1-mile courses that are open to runners, walkers, children, strollers and pets.
The 2015 Leaves of Hope will also feature a huge Health and Safety Expo with great kids’ activities, live entertainment from Chris Daniels and the Kings, delicious food, and special events and gifts for cancer survivors.
“This event has grown so much in the last eight years,” says Carol Salzmann, Vice President of Community Development for Lutheran Medical Center and Executive Director of Lutheran Medical Center Foundation. “We have a lot of great new additions to the event this year, and we love getting to celebrate survivorship with our patients, staff and physicians.”
